audience有复数，audience的复数是audiences。audience是一个集合名词后面跟单复数皆可。当表示整体的时候，就用单数。多数用be动词，后面有词来修饰。audience用于贬义时，用it或its代指；没有贬义时，则往往用they，them或their代指。
audience前可用形容词large、small、huge等词来修饰，以表达听〔观〕众的多少。从严格意义上来说，audience多指“听众”，并无“观众”的意思，不过习惯上常将其做“观众”的意思；audience和audition均可表示“某种正式的场合”。
一般来说，audience指得是国家领导人或是名流人物就商业事务上的会见，而audition则是指制作人或经理人给一个有抱负的演员的试镜机会。
